The Stanford Red Barn offers many opportunities for interested persons to ride horses and improve horsemanship through a variety of programs. Browse through the following pages to learn more and get involved.

programs-team Stanford Equestrian TeamThe Stanford Equestrian Team, based at Stanford University’s historic Red Barn Equestrian Center, has between 35-45 active members riding Hunt Seat Equitation, Dressage and Western Horsemanship. The team is actively involved in all aspects of horsemanship and care and competes in Zone 8, Region 1 of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association Zone 8. The team boasts numerous Regional and Zone Champions and Top 10 National ranking.
programs-riding Riding AcademyCommunity members and Stanford-affiliates (students, faculty and staff) can join group lessons to improve their English riding skills under the tutelage of our well-respected trainers.
programs-interscholastic Red Barn Interscholastic and Athletic Equestrian TeamsThe Red Barn’s fun, educational and successful High School and Middle School teams (Red Barn & Woodside) train together at Stanford and compete at IEA and AEL shows throughout California.
programs-pe Physical EducationAvailable to Stanford students, faculty, and staff. Geared towards beginner through advanced beginner riders in English and Western. Classes meet once a week and enrollment is limited.
programs-precollege The Stanford Pre-Collegiate Summer ProgramThe Stanford Pre-Collegiate Summer Program offers intensive week long sessions available to high school students who would like to explore the world of collegiate riding. Each day includes a mounted riding lesson with one of the coaches of the Stanford Equestrian Team, an unmounted educational session and a fitness activity.
